AOC is, without too much hesitation, a benchmark for gaming displays and monitors, and now expands its portfolio with the AOC GH200 and GH300 gaming headsets.
The two headphones share it same chassis, a comfortable structure with detachable microphone, in-line remote control, but they differ in the finishes, gunmetal for the GH200, a red finish for the GH300. While the GH200s offer stereo audio, via a traditional 3,5mm jack connector, the GH300 also provides 7.1 virtual surround sound (only on PC); the latter are also equipped with a USB connector, Y splitter which allows you to separate, if necessary, the microphone and headphone outputs, and different 4-mode RGB lighting effects.
We often say this on our pages, sound and sound design in general are aspects that rarely get the attention they deserve, but now they are an integral part of our videogame experience, something that initially was almost exclusive property of the FPS world and that now instead comes to be the backbone of gaming across many genres and contexts.
AOC is obviously attentive to all this, in fact her headphones offer a frequency range that goes from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with an impedance of 32 Ω, all obtainable thanks to the neodymium driver from 50 mm.
It does not even forget another key element of gaming, namely that of doing it in company, communicating with companions through the voice chat of our console, but also on Discord or other external programs; in this the extractable microphone offered by the AOC GH200 and GH300 is essential, offering comfort and reliability, also thanks to the noise filter that works at both very low and very high frequencies, and equipped with a LED that indicates when the microphone is off, greatly improving the UX.
All external sounds are best filtered and the leatherette and memory foam pads ensure prolonged use without disturbances. As for the materials, the external cover is in metal mesh and the sliding arch is in steel, to better distribute the weight of the headphones.
The AOC GH200 and GH300 will be available from May 2021 to € 42,90 and € 55,90 respectively.
