We will explain how to delete WhatsApp group. It is possible that in WhatsApp you have created groups that you no longer use and that you prefer to delete to do some cleaning. In these cases, you may have already realized that a group isn't easy to delete, it's not like pressing a button.
WhatsApp groups are only deleted when no one is left inside. This means that to delete the Whatsapp group, you will need to have admin permissions, convince people to leave it or expel them directly (preferably by notifying them), and then simply leave the group. We will explain everything to you step by step.
How to delete Whatsapp group
1. First check that you are an administrator
To close a WhatsApp group, the first thing you need to do is verify that you are an administrator. To do this, you need to join the group you want to close and click the three dots icon you have in the upper right corner of the screen.
This will open a window with different options related to the group, where you can turn off notifications to see all the files that have been sent. Here, you have to click on the Information option on the group, which is the one that appears first.
You will enter a screen where all information related to the group is displayed. In it, first go down to where the attendee list appears, and check that near where you appear with the name You see the Admin of the label Group. If this sign appears green, it is because you are an administrator.
And if you are not an administrator, if you want to delete Whatsapp group you will have to ask one of its administrators to add you as such, even if the quickest thing is to tell him to close it himself. Obviously the right thing to do is to always inform everyone and agree on the closure of the group.
2. How to delete WhatsApp group
After making sure you are an admin, you can proceed with deleting the group. To do this, the first thing you must always do is notify others you are about to delete the group and invite them to leave it alone. If you do things without warning, you will most likely end up generating discomfort or anger because others don't understand why you expelled them.
Once you have made it known to everyone and you have waited a few hours for everyone to read it, you can start expelling anyone who is left inside. To do this, go back to the group information screen where you verified that you are an administrator. There, keep your finger pressed on the name of the person you wish to expel (1) and in the pop-up menu that will appear, choose the option to delete that user (2).
When you choose the option to remove a user from the group, a window will appear asking if you really want to delete them. In it, simply hit the OK button to confirm that you are about to ban the selected user. Repeat this with all group members until you are the only one left.
Once left alone in the group, click on the Exit group button which will appear just below everything, and before the option to report it. To remove the group, you must first be the last to leave.
When you choose the Leave group option, a window will appear asking you if you really want to do this, and other solutions are proposed such as silencing it. Here, click the Exit option to confirm that you wish to leave the group.
