This time it is a spin-off from the title Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World. As Gust producer Keisuke Kuchi announced earlier in the development of the title, this is a slightly different jrpg from those that appeared in the rest of the series, focused more on celebrating the XNUMXth anniversary of the series with something different.
So let's find out together Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World.
Nelke is the main protagonist of this spin-off. A very dutiful noblewoman. Throughout the story, Nelke will be in charge of Westbald village housekeeper. Nelke's role is basically to run the village, make it thrive and increase its population. Although the initial difficulties, accentuated by the fact that Nelke is not an alchemist, our protagonist will receive some interesting visits.
These are the different alchemists present in the Atelier series, who come to Nelke's rescue both in combat and in the development of Westbald.
In this JRPG we will have before us a management system, which includes the development of Westbald, which is not limited to just building and producing, but also keeping the village under constant control and satisfying any particular requests from the inhabitants, but even by senior officers. As Westbald grows, new characters will introduce themselves to Nelke and offer their support, both as a manual force for the village, and as support during Nelke's explorations and eventual battles.
It will also be important to know how to maintain strong s with these characters, with a system similar to that of dating sims, which involves using Nelke's free time to strengthen his bond with the many characters coming from the other Ateliers that will arrive.
Westbald's system of growth is based on the construction of different structures used to produce materials, food and needs for the village. It will be possible to place a secondary character alongside a structure to monitor and help development. As you progress through the campaign, several areas that Nelke and his party can explore will unlock.
With the different materials obtained during these expeditions, new buildings or upgrades can be unlocked that will increase the production speed or the mood of the village.
However, Nelke is also in Westbald for a personal reason. Although she never managed to become an alchemist for lack of talent, our protagonist is fascinated by this world, in particular by the ancient legend of the Sage of Granzweit, of which she hopes to find new information during her expeditions and research on behalf of of the village.
It will be up to the player to decide how to spend their time, marked by Weekdays and Holidays. During the Weekdays, Nelke is usually busy developing Westbald, while during the Holidays she can devote herself to her own research, go on expeditions with her party or visit her friends in this new village.
Finally, let's take a brief look at the combat system. THEn Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World the battles are considerably more elementary and simple than in the previous chapters, but some elements remain present, like the Action Gauge, which determines the order in which the party and enemies will act. As they inflict or take damage, the lower left indicator will fill up, allowing the player to activate the Burst, a function that increases all the parameters of the party members, also allowing them to attack faster.
While some characters like Nelke and Kunos will rely on their fighting skills, the various alchemists (who can be added to the party once they join Westbald's village) will rely on their alchemy. Regardless of the character, each attack will be awarded a point in favor of the attacker. Accumulating these points is used to unleash certain techniques (which require these points) capable of inflicting considerable damage, altered states or debuffs at the expense of enemies.
Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World, a spin-off of the Atelier series that recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary, will be released on March 26, 2019 and will be available on PlayStation 4, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
