The wait is almost over: tomorrow, September XNUMXst, nvidia will finally show what the future of its gaming video cards will be, introducing the series to the world Nvidia RTX 3000. In the last few hours, however, numerous leaks have emerged regarding the prices and performance of the video cards that Nvidia will present tomorrow. In addition, some images of custom models have also popped up, notably ASUS, Zotac and Gainward.
With the announcement of the new generation of consoles, both Microsoft and Sony have tried to reduce the performance gap with their PC counterpart, but as we all know, time is running out and technology is always changing. Both Nvidia RTX 3090, or the flagship of the Santa Clara house, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070, represent a real concentrate of power, power that however has a price and certainly not just and not for everyone.
Starting with order, the chip that we will find on board the Nvidia RTX 3090 should have well 5248 Cuda Core, 24GB of GDDR6X memory with a 384-bit bus capable of providing a bandwidth of 936 GB / s, all with a TGP of 350W. Most likely the reference model should already have a triple slot format capable of keeping the hot spirits of the flagship at bay. According to some rumors Nvidia RTX 3090 will have two new 12 Pin connectors, forcing us to buy adapters if they are not present in the package. On the catalog of some Chinese retailers both the ROG branded RTX 3090 appears at a price that approaches 2300 EURor, both the RTX 3090 Vulcan X-OC a 2080 euro approximately. Both are mind-boggling prices and definitely within the reach of a few, even if we don't know for sure whether it is a place holder or the real selling price.
Given the lower technical specifications, it is assumed that the other two models from the Nvidia RTX 3000 family are more affordable at the price level. RTX 3080 should have a total of 4352 Cuda Core, 10GB GDDR6X, 320-bit bus for a capacity of brate of 760 GB / s and a TGP of 320W. Finally the RTX 3070 should be accompanied by 8GB of GDDR6 memory, a Bus from 256-bit with a capacity of 512 GB / s bandwidth it's a TGP of 220W. Here unfortunately we don't know how much Cuda Core has
Currently we know one thing, all three cards will have production process at 7nm and will support the PCI Express 4.0.
As mentioned at the beginning of the article, in addition to the technical characteristics, some images of some custom models of the new video cards also emerged. First of all is Zotac which should present eight proposals: RTX 3090 AMP Extreme, RTX 3090 Trinity HoLo, RTX 3090 Trinity, RTX 3080 AMP Extreme, RTX 3080 Trinity HoLo, RTX 3080 Trinity, RTX 3070 Twin Edge HoLo, RTX 3070 Twin Edge . Although not confirmed, it appears that the first to be available will be Trinity and Twin Edge graphics cards.
Zotac Trinity graphics cards feature a triple fan design with a completely black coating. Furthermore, there is the “HoLo” variant that adds RGB lighting both in the fan cover and in the backplate.
The Zotac RTX 3070 Twin Edge graphics cards instead use a dual fan design smaller. The Twin Edge HoLo variant is similar to AMP Extreme graphics cards, but with only two fans.
The leak of Gainward, shared by VideoCardz, shows graphics cards instead Geforce RTX 3090 Phoenix "Golden Sample" and 3080 Phoenix "Golden Sample". Based on the images, these cards feature three black fans encased in a silver cover with RGB LEDs and a brownish backplate. In addition to getting confirmation on the specs of both the RTX 3090 and 3080, the datasheets also tell us that both cards are factory overclocked. The RTX 3090 Phoenix Golden Sample will have a clocked up to 1725 MHz while the RTX 3080 Phoenix Golden Sample features a boost clock of 1740 MHz.
Finally, again according to the leaks of VideoCardz, the ASUS Republic of Gamers RTX 3090 Strix model will feature a design of the triple fan heat sink with two fans spinning counterclockwise and the central fan spinning clockwise. At the moment, we don't know how this new heatsink design uses RGB lighting or what changes have been made to the underlying design.
Based on what we can see, ASUS ROG RTX 3090 Strix will be a 2,5-slot graphics card, and will likely be detected tomorrow at the event ROG Meta Buffs set for 20:00.
Now we just have to wait until tomorrow and if you, like us, are no longer in the skin, you can follow the Nvidia conference directly with us on our channel Twitch. We will go on the air at 17.30, don't miss it!
