Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Martyr, officially released more than two years ago, is a game that has been able to grow and improve right away.

It wasn't perfect, but it was undoubtedly able to represent the grim dark universe conceived by one Games Workshop in “Diablo Like” version.

Improvements made by the NeocoreGames the structure of the game itself (currently in version 2.0) were carried out especially in view of the first expansion module, the standalone dlc Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy, which has been out for some time now on PC and landed only now for the console counterpart, PlayStation 4 specifically, but also available for Xbox One.

Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy - Review

Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy, as we said, is a stand alone expansion and, as such, it can be faced even if you do not own the original Inquisitor: Martyr, which is however recommended if we want to fully enjoy the plot, given that the proposed campaign is the direct continuation of that of the main game.

Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy introduces a new class of inquisitor, the Tech Adept: an agent who, before being recruited by the Inquisition, was in the ranks of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the cult in the service of the God Machine, the true scientific heart of the Imperium.

Techno Adepts will have access to their own dedicated arsenal, both for long-range and melee weapons, plus some specific equipment.

In addition to weaponry, Techno Adepts will also have the unique ability to summon gods onto the battlefield constructs, a sort of warrior robot of various shapes and nature, which will soon prove to be invaluable allies during the incessant fighting.

But not only a new class has been added: with Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy we have also expanded the ranks of our fearsome adversaries. With the expansion we will in fact be called to clash with the Eldar, the "good" version of the evil Drukhari known in season 1 of free content, and with the Tyranids, a ferocious and irrepressible alien race ruled by a Hive Mind. This in addition of course to the more or less welcome returns of the enemies already met in the past.

In addition to the adversaries, new types of environments have also been added, among which desert scenarios and oppressive cathedrals stand out.

The entirety of the additional content is also available in random missions, in the end Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy, and in the Void Crusade. You will be able to play the narrative arc of Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy at high levels even with our inquisitor fresh from the main campaign, with the exception of the first investigation, which is the exclusive prerogative of the new classes introduced.

Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Prophecy also confirms on console the extreme care with which Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Martyr has been followed in the post launch phase. The expansion is very beautiful and full of additional content which, combined with the two seasonal campaigns, make the title of NeocoreGames and Bigben Interactive, a real must have for all fans of the gloomy universe of the 41st Millennium.
