    Western Digital announces U.2 Enterprise SSDs

    Western Digital, a well-known storage device company, has announced the release of new enterprise-class NVMe SSDs for small and medium-sized businesses so that they can easily upgrade to U.2 NVMe SSD storage for data centers.

    It is the first enterprise unit of the WD Gold family and will be available from the beginning of the second quarter of 2020 in different versions that differ in storage capacity. In fact, there are 4 different models including the 960 GB, 1.92 TB, 3.84 TB and finally 7.68 TB.

    The new SSDs of the WD Gold family possess the 3D TLC NAND SSD chip specially designed to be fully compatible with the firmware and the integrated controller. There are various integrated features including PLP protection (power-loss-protection).

    The solutions in question offered by Western Digital intended for data centers respond to a variety of needs posed within a technological landscape in continuous and rapid evolution.
