Destiny 2, like the first, is such a vast game that players can spend hours in a single area, including enemies, missions, public events and treasures. Rightly, however, between a Raid and a blow to the Crucible it happens to go to the Refuge and take a well-deserved break. Compared to Destiny, the central hub and social point of this game is a single, large area where players can talk to various NPCs, run around, commit suicide or play a little football. Or, they can perform a variety of actions, earn Guard ranks in Destiny 2, and become Recon Commanders.
Let's clarify it immediately: the title of Recon Commander obtained with these Ranks it does not lead to any shaders, no emblem, no prize in short, if not the title itself. It is also not a definitive "buff" of the character, as it will disappear when you leave the Refuge (or if you die in it). This is a blue aura that will surround the player and give him more speed, greater jumping height and a blue trail that he leaves while running or jumping. Anyone who has played Saints Row 4 will certainly find it familiar.
To become a Recon Commander you just need to perform two simple actions in the Refuge, get the 4 Guard Ranks in Destiny 2 and complete a kind of obstacle course. Below we will show you the optimal path to do this, followed by a video guide.
Hydraulic acceleration
In the house opposite Hawthorne, the one where the Cryptarch is located, there is a large mill: your first stop is there. Jumping to the roof is simple, just jump onto the awning above Eververse's Tess Everis, take a run and jump to the roof; alternatively, you can stand in front of the mill, jump on it and jump to the roof from there. Once on the roof, just climb over the mill wheel and run in the opposite direction to it, obviously avoiding falling down. After a short time, a symbol will appear on the left of the screen that reads Guard Degrees x2, and shortly thereafter the word "Hydraulic acceleration completed."
Vertigo
To get the other Guard Degrees, you will need to climb to the roof of the structure in front of the one you are in: to do so, just jump over the cables that connect the two buildings and run over them. Once on the roof of the structure, you will have to repeat the action and reach the building where Hawthorne is: here too you will have to jump on the cables, paying attention to your speed and jump width, both higher than normal, and walk the cables . Once on the roof of the third building, you will have Guard Degrees x 4 and after a while you will also get "Vertigo completed."
Reconnaissance patrol
For the third and final point, you will have to go to the Refuge pier and interact with the lit bonfire. Having 4 degrees of guard you can start the reconnaissance patrol: it is just a simple obstacle course in time. Once you start you will be even faster and you will jump even higher, and you will have to reach different bright spots in a certain amount of time. Don't worry, it's really simple and although there are 10 in total, you will be given extra time at each stop, allowing you to complete the loop without any worries.
Once you reach the final stage, the game will tell you how long it took you to finish the lap and will give you the title of Recon Commander and you will be surrounded by an intense blue aura. Now you can run around the Refuge with the same speed and jump width you had during the ride, without having to worry about a time limit.
