The Swedish independent game developer, Arrowhead Game Studio, known for titles like Helldivers and Gauntlet, seems to be working on a new title that could be aimed exclusively at the next-gen, therefore to the newborn PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
According to the first information released the new title of Arrowhead Game Studio it could be in the triple A bracket like a third-person shooter which will implement all new graphics, innovative co-op and the ability for players to change the course of the plot.
These elements undoubtedly remember the Helldivers Galactic Campaign, which allowed players in the community to conquer planets, gain influence and popularity, and ultimately move the battle into enemy territory infiltrating inside it. Obviously we still don't know if Arrowhead Game Studio's new triple A will go in the same direction, but surely there will be typical satirical humor which has always characterized the titles of this independent development studio.
Currently lo Swedish firm is looking for staff to expand its staff in view of the progress of the development of the new title, as stated by the game director and CEO Johan Pilestedt:
We are incredibly excited to create a new next-gen co-op experience for our fans and community. We are looking for talented developers to join us on this journey and look forward to sharing more details about the ongoing project at a later date.
Although the mysterious new triple-A game is referred to as a next-gen title it is possible that the project is designed exclusively for PlayStation 5. We remember in fact that Gauntlet was an exclusive PlayStation 4, while Helldivers was published by Sony on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita; later the game was also released on PC.
Obviously for now the information on the new Arrowhead Game Studio title is still quite scarce and we can only make assumptions. However, we are confident that in the coming months the studio will share more details with its fans and community.
