ASUS unveiled today RT-AX86U, its latest performance segment dual-band 6 (6ax) Wi-Fi 802.11 router. Featuring a triple antenna configuration (excluding a fourth discrete antenna on the PCB), the router offers dual band speeds up to 5700 Mbps (861Mbps 2,4GHz + 4804Mbps 5GHz), along with support for the latest security WPA3 standard. The router is recommended by nvidia GeForce NOW for the best possible latencies and bandwidths required by the cloud Gaming service.
The configuration of wired connections on this router RT-AX86U it's interesting: there are two WAN ports, one of which is 1 GbE and the other 2,5 GbE. On the LAN side, you get four connections from 1 GbE. In addition to the single connection from 2,5 GbE, ASUS claims the router can aggregate bandwidth from two 1GbE upstream connections (there aren't too many gigabit fiber ISPs that provide fiber cable switches with 2,5GbE ports). The router uses a processor 1,80 GHz quad-core arm with 1 GB of RAM e 256 MB of flash memory. The router also has a port USB 3.2 gen 1 5 Gbps, to which you can connect any USB mass storage class device that can be shared over the network.
The company did not disclose the prices of RT-AX86U.
