Farming Simulator 19 becomes even more realistic with the introduction of Precision farming (Precision Agriculture), a new DLC that brings "smart farming" technology to the field and will be available for PC and console from8th December.
The DLC is part of the Precision Farming Project (Precision Agriculture Project) founded by EIT Food, leader in Europe of the Food Innovation initiative. Developed by Giants Software, the DLC offers new gameplay elements for more eco-friendly farming.
Started by the well-known manufacturer of agricultural machinery John Deere, the project is expected to last 2 years and will see the collaboration of a variety of partners from the European Union, including two Universities involved in the creation of the concept and in the continuous testing of the gameplay features.
The objective of the Precision Agriculture project is motivated by the fact that public awareness of agriculture is in sharp decline. With the link between the society that lives in large cities and the technology of modern agriculture practically severed. Modern precision farming technologies are being introduced in Farming Simulator as one of the EIT's countless efforts to raise awareness of sustainable agriculture among the general public.
Players will be able to optimize their performance by taking soil samples to identify four different soil types each with specific individual needs. They will have to take into account pH values and nitrogen content in the soil. The dynamic application of rates, based on the properties of the soil, will allow you to save on resources such as seeds, gasoline, fertilizers and keep costs under control, saving money and protecting the environment.
Launching this DLC marks only the first step, further contents are being defined with the collaboration ofHohenheim University (Germany) ofUniversity of Reading (Britain) and player feedback, the continuation of the project will bring even more gameplay features and build a closer connection between modern society and the world of agriculture.
Farming Simulator 19 Premium Edition is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in physical version.
