There is still a lot confusion regarding the support Sony will give to PlayStation 5 in terms of backward compatibility with PlayStation 4 titles. To clarify everything we thought the official Ask PlayStation JP account which confirmed that the titles indicated as backward compatible will be playable on PlayStation 5 regardless of the support owned by the player. Consequently it will be possible to transport our PlayStation 4 titles on the new Sony console both by reading the optical media and by downloading the digital title.

pic.twitter.com/Ha0JZGHtf4

The confirmation comes after the rumors of the past few days regarding the fact that 99% of PlayStation 4 titles will be playable on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility, at the same time the predictable impossibility of playing the PS3, PS2 and PSX titles on the new flagship of the house was indicated Sony.

We remember that PlayStation 5 will be available starting November 19th, at a price of 499 € for the version inclusive of the blu ray player and 399 € for the "all-digital" version.
