Despite Nioh has been out for almost a year, we recently saw its return to PC, in the new version entitled Complete Edition, which includes the game plus the various DLCs released later; Yet for some players it may be really difficult to get started, so today we offer you some tips to start your Nioh adventure.
- Choose your weapon carefully
As soon as you complete the tutorial you will find yourself faced with a choice, which will surely be familiar to you if you have already played the saga of Souls. You will find yourself choosing among some weapons the one that will be your travel companion. We advise you to think about it and choose carefully, as depending on your selection, your statistics will also radically change; obviously during your journey you will have to level up the attributes that best suit the chosen weapon, since in this way you will make the most of it.
- Look for the various Kodamas
I Kodama they are small beings present in Nioh, which you will have to find in the various scenarios and send back to the sanctuary; these will be hidden in every mission, and if collected in large quantities, they can guarantee not indifferent bonuses. First of all, with a good number of Kodama you can increase the number of Elixirs that will be created by the Sanctuary; you can also take advantage of some blessings that increase the number of items, Elixir ed Amrita obtained from enemies, although you can only choose one blessing at a time, and the number of beings collected will affect the intensity of the benefits received. Furthermore, the bonuses received will not be permanent, as they are linked to the individual regions that make up the map.
- Make the Dojo your home
After completing your first mission in Japan, you will be able to train at the Dojo whenever you want; do not make the mistake of avoiding this place, perhaps thinking you have understood the basics of the game well. This area is full of missions useful for training and for gaining skills that would not otherwise be obtainable, like some Ninja Skill, but also to get attacks like the Backstab (really useful in every phase of the game). So train, train and train again.
- Summon the Revenant
Whenever a player dies, you can find his grave in the place where he fell, which also retains a sort of spirit with his information (such as his equipment and their strength). Through interaction with the aforementioned tombs you will be able to summon the Revenant, which if defeated will grant you some parts of the equipment of the player who fell in battle, together with a modest amount of Glory. The latter is a currency that you can use in Hidden Tea House to get some very useful rewards, but be careful especially during the early stages of the game, as the aforementioned spirits could prove too much of a challenge for your character.
- Try to farm as much as possible
Yes, we know that farming many times turns out to be a deadly bore, yet in Nioh many times it is necessary to dedicate oneself to this mechanic; after long farming sessions you will find yourself with definitely useful items, such as weapons and armor or Elixir, but also with disproportionate amounts of useless items. The latter can be sold for money, they can be disassembled to produce better items, or they can simply be offered to the Shrine in exchange for Amrita and often Elixir, very useful before facing a boss.
- NDon't be afraid to summon
As happens in other games, also in this Koei title it is possible to summon players to be helped in some battles, perhaps too difficult for the current level of our character; Well, don't be afraid to summon the players by offering one as a gift Ochoko cup to the Sanctuary during your missions. But his help will not last long: in fact after defeating the boss, your battle partner will return to his world, allowing you to continue your adventure.
These little tips will allow you to have an optimal gaming experience in Nioh, which we remind you to be available for Playstation 4 and PC in the form of a Complete Edition.
