Spotify is finally rolling out a new feature that lets you download music and podcasts to your Apple Watch, so you can listen to them without an iPhone.
With the new feature, Spotify users will now see an option to download playlists, albums, and podcasts to their Apple Watch in the Options tab.
Users could previously control playback from the Spotify app on Apple Watch, but will now be able to download music to it. Once the music is downloaded to Apple Watch, users can listen to it without an internet connection or paired iPhone nearby.
With this new feature, Spotify has made it much easier to listen to content on the go. Whether you're at the gym or just forgot your phone, you can still listen to your favorite Spotify music and podcasts.
How to Download Spotify Content to Your Apple Watch
If you're looking to download Spotify music and podcasts to your Apple Watch, there are a couple of requirements. You will need a Spotify Premium plan, just like you do to download music to other devices. Also, an Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 6.0 or later is required.
To download content to your Apple Watch:
- Go to the playlist, album or podcast you want to download.
- Touch the three dots.
- You will see a new option Download on Apple Watch, tap it and wait for the download to finish.
When you want to listen to the downloaded content, go to the Spotify app on your Apple Watch, find the playlist, album or podcast and hit Play. You will need to connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones to your Apple Watch.
