Through a new glitch discovered in Final Fantasy XV, and still working despite the latest patches, it is possible permanently add Aranea to our party. Let's see how, but first of all we recommend that you keep a backup of your clean save file.
First, there are a few things you need to know about Aranea: as long as she stays in the party she can resurrect the other members, she can't be KO'd and she can cross-attack; also will participate in photos and in the camps. There are also downsides to keeping her in the squad, in fact no items can be used on her, she doesn't have a chocobo, she can't board the Regalia, she blocks morning missions and prevents us from fishing.
How to permanently add Aranea to the party
First of all, the glitch can only be activated during chapter 9 or during the post game in chapter 15.
- Camp at Cotisse Heaven north of Hammerhead. Wait until midnight and save your game. You must necessarily save the game at midnight otherwise Aranea will not appear.
- Head north towards the mountains and the red fence, then whistle the monsters, and a Giant will appear. If an imperial airship arrives instead of the daemon, wait until the ship flies away, then return to the Regalia (from the relevant menu item) and back to the camp. If you keep finding only airships, take out all the Imperials before starting over.
- As soon as the giant enters the scene, Aranea should already be flying towards you. Immediately run out of the combat area, open the game map and return to the last stopping point. Don't wait for the helper animation to start, otherwise it will already be too late.
- To add Aranea to the party we will have to open the camp menu before her animation starts and she joins the group normally. If you wait too long the UI will be blocked and you will not be able to open the aforementioned menu.
- While the menu is displayed check Aranea. Once you get off the airship and appear near the camp, click on "Camp".
- After the night, load the self-rescue created by this last stop of yours.
- Congratulations! Aranea is now a member of your group!
How to remove Aranea from the party
- It will automatically leave the party when the game is reset due to main or optional missions.
- In chapter 15 you just have to repeat the final battle and load the new clean save.
- You can also force her to leave the group by entering the secret dungeon of Pitioss
- Finally, it can be removed from the party by spawning a second Aranea normally, at the end of the battle both PCs will disappear.
