If you have arrived at the credits of Octopath Traveler, but still do not have the slightest intention of abandoning it, know that once the game is finished you will be able to go and explore another dungeon present within the game.
Finding it may not be so obvious, so we leave you below a guideline to follow to go and find it. Although this is a phase that can only be tackled post game once the main story is over, you may find some spoilers in this guide; pay attention and read the following only after the game is finished.
Before proceeding to read the steps necessary to unlock the dungeon we leave you a small tip: in addition to being a place full of bosses and enemies, during this part of the game you will be able to learn more about the lore of Octopath Traveler. We highly recommend completing it for players who are eager for knowledge.
Finish all eight stories
It may seem obvious, but the first requirement to go to unlock the post game dungeon is to have completed all eight main stories that make up the game. Once you no longer have any character icons on the map you will know that you are at the right point.
Complete Lyblac's quest
Head to the town of Bolderfall and reach the Ravus Manor, inside which you will find a guard named Alphas. Defeat her with Olberic or H'aanit to complete the first part of the quest. Then go to Saintbridge, where you will find Alphas again, this time depressed and intent on writing a poem. Use Alfyn or Cyrus to learn his work, then take it to a woman named Flora, who you will find in the Saintbridge part of the cathedral. At this point, the second phase is also gone.
Complete Kit's quest
Kit is one of the first NPCs you will encounter in the game, right after leaving the first city. He will ask you about curative grapes: give them to him. Later you will track him down in the city of Noblecourt: here, on the right side of the screen, you will find an NPC called "Aspiring Actor". Use Ophilia or Primrose to bring this character to Kit and complete another phase of the mission.
Then go to Grandport and find the merchant who promises rare gems and precious objects (he can be found immediately at the exit of the inn and the shop of objects). Use Therion or Theresa to get the Lapis Lazuli from the merchant, which you can take to Kit, found near the Moostruck Coast. At this point go to West S'warki Trail and find the Impresario. Take on a simple mini boss and you will finally unlock the final dungeon: the Hornburg Ruins. You can easily reach it quickly through fast travel.
Now you can "easily" explore what represents the last piece of the Octopath Traveler puzzle, but mind you that like any secret dungeon, here too you will find enemies and bosses capable of making you spend some very bad moments. Complete it all and you will find yourself in front of a thick wall of text with interesting insights into the game world, the intertwining of the various stories and other curiosities about the lore. Let's not tell you more, now it's up to you to go and find out what lies inside the last dungeon of Octopath Traveler.
