In Final Fantasy XV there are several dungeons in which to find the Ancestral Weapons, powerful weapons that Noctis can equip during his adventures. These dungeons are located throughout the map and can be explored at any point in the story, although it is recommended that you explore them once you have reached a certain level.
These places are located:
- Malmalam Forest (recommended level 30).
- Forest of Myrl (recommended level 30).
- Balouve mine (recommended level 50).
- Castlemark Tower (recommended level 60).
- Ravatogh volcano (recommended level 30).
Once the game is complete, by going to the Meldacio Hunting Association you will find Ezma, an NPC who will give you a key and unlock the related secondary missions "Threat under Lucis". This way you will unlock the secret dungeons that are found:
- Keycatrich trench (recommended level 55).
- Fociaugh cave (recommended level 65).
- Greyshire Glacial Cave (recommended level 65).
- Daurell's cave (recommended level 72).
- Balouve mine (recommended level 78).
- Steyliff Woods (recommended level 86).
- Canals of Crestholm (recommended level 92).
- Costlemark Tower (recommended level 99).
