As any fan of the saga now well knows, in each chapter of Yakuza there are numerous references and activities related purely to the oriental world, whether they are holidays or pastimes. Even Yakuza Kiwami 2 is not exempt from this cycle, and between a cutscene and a fight we will have the opportunity to have fun as we like; and why not choose mahjong to rest your hands?
Who has tried to face the sub quest # 21: Against All Odds he knows well that this game is not for everyone, requiring some practice and familiarity. But we will come to your aid, giving you some tips that will certainly help you in case you want to complete the much desired mission (admit it, you are only doing to reach the platinum trophy, don't lie).
Unlock Quest # 21
The mission will be unlockable from the first chapter of Yakuza Kiwami 2: you can find it outside of Lullaby Mahjong in Kamurocho. To get there, just take the road south from New Serena, on the southeast edge of the map.
There you will find a gambler up to his neck full of gambling debts, who will beg Kiryu to help him out. As always, we can decide whether to accept or reject; if you think you accept instantly you are wrong, since to have a few more chances of being able to complete the quest you will first need to collect some objects scattered around the neighborhood. Refuse and get ready for the treasure hunt.
Peerless Tile
The Peerless Tiles are the key items that will allow me to pass the quest more easily, saving you some effort. Throughout the flow of Yakuza Kiwami 2 you will have the opportunity to collect a maximum of 3 Peerless Tile, based on your progress in the main storyline.
- Rental 1: the first object is the one you will be able to find more easily, since it is exactly where you can start the quest. Take the stairs from the emergency exit and take the elevator to the third floor of the building. You will find an office with several shelves and in the far corner, behind a series of shelves, you will find the first Peerless Tile.
- Rental 2: You can recover the second after visiting Sotenbori for the first time. Head to the building with the gambling house on South Shofukucho Street and go up two floors. You will find the Peerless Tile at the end of the corridor furthest from the stairs.
- Rental 3This is the one that will take you the most time and that requires a little more effort. You will have to complete the sub quest # 31: Duel with the Mentor, accessible in the Champion District. To do this, you will face Komaki, the mentor of the protagonist, along with another series of opponents. All without having the possibility to use objects, weapons or the Heat Actions. Once completed, you will receive the latest Peerless Tile.
Using tiles
At this point you are ready to return to our primary objective, completing quest # 21. Go back to the gambler and this time agree to help him (if in doubt, make sure you have the Peerless Tiles in your inventory again, you never know).
At the end of the dialogue, before the minigame starts, you will be asked if you want to use one of the Tiles; it seems obvious to me, but obviously choose "Yes" and let the game begin ... even if obviously thanks to the Tile you will find yourself starting first and you will have in your hand all the necessary tiles to produce the "Pure Thirteen Orphans" hand. Then choose to make a call to Tsumo and you will magically find yourself with the beauty of 144000 points, which will make you win the game.
