Mushkin, SSD and M.2 company, has announced the new “PILOT-E” series of NVMe M.2 SSDs. The product in question supports a data transfer rate of 3.500 MB / sec.
The M.2 PILOT-E unit is based on a Silicon Motion “SM2262EN” controller which supports 8 NAND channels. The compatible interface is PCI-Express3.0 (x4) and the form factor used is M.2 2280. Available in different variants that differ according to the memory capacity and there are in particular 3 models (500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB). The weight amounts to 7 grams.
As far as performance is concerned, 3.500 MB / sec speed is reached in sequential reading, 2.300 MB / sec in sequential writing, 344.400IOPS in random reading and 343.000IOPS in random writing.
There are also various built-in features such as LDC ECC functionality, end-to-end protection, global wear leveling, SLC cache, static data refresh, HMB, AES256bit encryption and so on.
The price is between 200 euros for the 1 TB model and 309 euros for the 2 TB model.
