Bad news for all fans of souls-like and, in particular, of the Nioh brand, the title created by Team Ninja.
Despite the great success of the first chapter and also the excellent response obtained from its direct sequel, Nioh 2, the third installment of the series will never see the light. To confirm the news was the same Fumihiko Yasuda that during an interview with Famitsu's Japanese colleagues somehow revealed the company's future plans for the brand in question.
Team Ninja, in fact, has decided to focus on new projects, of which obviously we do not yet know the identity or the various timing. It must be said, however, that all this is not linked to the success of the two titles, which has absolutely not been questioned, but precisely because of the desire to devote himself to something else and to try new paths.
Nioh 2, therefore, will be the conclusion of the saga that began in 2017 and will reach its peak during 2021 with the PS5 and PC version of the game which, according to Yasuda, will be almost “a game of its own”.
