All Pokémon Go players have a common problem: the excessive consumption of battery and data traffic, also due to the massive use of GPS. Instinctively, this has led many people to carry portable batteries with them so as not to stop playing at the most beautiful moment: however, this is certainly not very comfortable and does not solve the problem related to traffic. However, thanks to some simple precautions it will be possible to save both in terms of energy and traffic.
Pokémon Go relies on Google Maps, therefore you could download the maps of the most popular areas from Maps, saving both battery and data traffic. More precisely, to download the maps locally, you have to follow these steps: open the Google Maps app from your smartphone, go to settings, click on the offline maps option, press the + sign and add the areas you most frequent.
Niantic itself is also already doing its utmost on this issue and consequently updates to the game are expected that will further lower consumption.
