Pokémon Sword and Shield introduces two new interesting mechanics: Dynamax e Gigamax.
They are two terms that can easily put confusion in the head of even the most seasoned Pokémon players, that's the reason for our guide.
First of all, a quick explanation: Dynamax is a very large version of their respective base Pokémon, while Gigamax are larger and more diverse versions, with better stats. While the Dynamax evolution is available to everyone, only a few Pokémon can take Gigamax form.
Dynamax
All Pokémon can dynamax in certain areas, such as gyms and during battles in the Wilderness: regardless of the situation, the Dynamax form will last for 3 turns and give new moves and stats to our Pokémon.
Gigamax
In addition to the size and stat changes already included in the Dynamax form, the Gigamax form also includes cosmetic changes to the Pokémon it gigamaxizes, in addition to G-Max moves. Here is a complete list of Pokémon that can Gigamaxare:
- Charizard
- Pikachu
- Eevee
- Butterfree
- Meowth
- Corviknight
- Alcremie
- Drednaw
- gengar
- Sandaconda
- Centiskorch
- Machamp
- Coalossal
- Grimmsnarl
- Duraludon
- The hats
- Copperajah
- Appletun
- Flapple
- Orbeetle
- Kingler
- Lapras
- Garbodor
How to get a Gigamax Pokémon?
Not all Pokémon of a particular species can gigamax, but it must necessarily be a Pokémon caught in a Max Raid, not one caught randomly around Galar.
Game Freak promises that it has something in the pipeline to make these Pokémon less rare, we will see how it decides to operate.
