- Another three stars are donated by Toad scattered around the castle: the first can be found next to the entrance to the Hazy Maze Cave level in the dungeons, the second in front of the painting leading to Tall, Tall Mountain (first floor, near the stairs), while the third Toad is located on the top floor, to the right of the clock leading to Tick Tock Clock. To get the stars, simply stand in front of the Toads, then press X or Y to talk to them and get the coveted prize.
- Three stars are obtained by collecting the 8 red coins in three levels of Bowser.
