Whether you are at gear level 10 or 450, it's no mystery that the Dark Zone of the latest Ubisoft title, The Division 2 contains the best loot in the game. Among the various possibilities to recover it certainly stand out different PvE activities or the way "of the renegade agent" stealing this equipment from other players.
In the course of your exploration of a Dark Zone in The Division 2 you may also have come across some special boxes that need a key to be opened. These speakers conceal the best loot of these areas, and this guide aims to help you get it.
Kill Elite enemies
The first way to get the keys to the crates of the different Black Zones is to kill elite enemies. It is enemies with yellow health, or, preferably, those with a name on their head. Such enemies have a (though not high) chance of dropping one of these keys when defeated. They can be found on patrols, during control activities, or in the vicinity of a cash desk.
Kill other players
Yes, there is the possibility of finding these keys too killing other players in case they are in possession of it. To do this you will not necessarily have to become renegades, as it will be enough to find other agents already renegade so that you can kill them without consequences. This will also increase our chances of finding a key, given that a renegade player has already killed other players (and consequently stolen their loot and any keys).
Leverage the Key Master Advantage
By leveling up ZN in The Division 2 you will unlock some benefits from the Black Zone officer to the White House. In particular, once you reach level 25, you will get the chance to unlock the "Master of Keys". Thanks to this Perk you will receive an increased chance of key drop from enemies by 25%; in this way defeating the enemies will be much more profitable and you will find keys much faster.
Picking the boxes
This isn't a real way to get the crate keys, but it's still the quickest way to get the contents. This however, especially if repeated several times, will make you become renegade agents, and consequently visible to other players who will come to try to kill you (to steal the stolen goods from you undisturbed).
We recommend this procedure as a last resort in case you can't find any keys and possibly do it with a group of three other trusted companions who won't stab you in the back.
