Il chapter 11 Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Hidden in Plain Sight, ends with a rather challenging puzzle for Nathan Drake and Sully, the one that will lead them on the road to Libertalia. The legendary pirate colony founded by Henry Avery is a stone's throw away, as they say: we are at the point in history where the Drake brothers go their separate ways to check out the Founders' towers scattered around Madagascar and find a concrete clue that leads them to the next place to sift.
This quick guide stems from the fact that the Chapter 11 puzzle may be the longest and most difficult in Uncharted 4. How to solve the riddle that revolves around the freebooters paintings Avery has assembled?
How the puzzle works
The puzzle takes its name from the central contraption in the room, the Wheel of the Founders, and is divided into 4 parts. Completing one part means unlocking another even more challenging, but having as a reference the images it will be very simple to continue the adventure. Each tile represents a pirate symbol. Each of them is surrounded by fragments which, together with the others, form a star. It will be necessary to inspect i paintings, find the square camouflaged within them and let Drake write down the details in his notebook, finally playing with the positions until the stars match.
How to solve the puzzle
Part 1: Avery & Tew
The first part seems to be casual and opens the dance. Being only two pieces there are few possible combinations, the right one leads:
- The skull with Avery's bandana facing up.
- Thomas Tew's sword to the right.
The combination will open the room with the first paintings to inspect.
Part 2: Baldridge, Bonny & Condent
To make the stars align, you need to make sure that:
- Adam Baldridge's crest sees the two skeletons horizontally.
- Anne Bonny's winged horse with its head down.
- Christopher Condent's dragon also with its head down.
The combination will open the second room, with more paintings.
Part 3: Want, Farrell & Mayes
With the pieces of Richard Want, Joseph Farrell and William Mayes things start to get complicated for the most stars. In this penultimate part of the puzzle:
- Black fish must tend upwards.
- The trident to the left.
- Mayes' skeletal hands upside down, with objects down.
The third and final room awaits.
Part 4: England, Malik,? (Wood) & Al-Basra
Two out of four pieces do not have the help of images, replaced by question marks. The ultimate goal remains the same, which is to align the stars. Did you recognize the blond pirate on the left?
- Edward England's scales must be turned upside down.
- The second piece (the first question mark in the notebook) by Tariq bin Malik, must have the sea snake must stretch its head upwards (if you follow the question mark, the dot must be in the east).
- The third piece, the monkey that continues the funny quote on Monkey Island, must instead be upside down (even if you rely on the question mark, quite the opposite of a normal sign).
- Finally, the tiger of Yazid Al-Basra must have its head down.
The puzzle from chapter 11, Wheel of the Founders, should now be a walk in the park. We leave you at the spectacular conclusion of the chapter, reminding you that Uncharted 4 is available exclusively from Sony on PlayStation 4 but PlayStation 5 will also arrive thanks to the PS Plus Collection.
