In order to get the best out of Animal Crossing: New Horizons you should quickly accumulate the iron nuggets, a very useful material in the early stages of the game of the Nintendo Switch title, recently updated for free.
To get the iron nuggets simply destroy the rocks and the precious raw metal will be released onto the ground: you can hit rocks with an ax or shovel, but the latter is definitely recommended since the ax is better suited for felling trees and could break if used on hard and solid materials such as rock. Of course, in the initial stages it will not be so simple as the number of rocks on the island is small and some parts of it will not be immediately accessible.
To facilitate the destruction of the rocks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and obtain the iron nuggets, you can observe some foresight such as remove all the weeds around the rocks to favor the drop of the materials, hit the rocks repeatedly and quickly (but beware of the backlash that will push you away from the rock) for a maximum of 8 times, finally to protect your character you can dig two holes between you and the rock.
Each day it will be possible to hit the rocks up to eight times, after that you will not receive any more iron nuggets however there are ways to speed up the build-up of material:
- Use a Nook miles coupon to join the Mysterious Island tour and farm more iron nuggets
- Steal the iron nuggets from your Best Friend, by visiting his island you can use an ax and shovel to hit the rocks and get more material.
- Make up the time (not recommended for those who don't want to ruin the experience of the title) by changing the time to the next day (setting the time to 5 in the morning) and thus having all the resources to be collected available again.
At this point you will have collected a lot of iron nuggets, but remember that rocks will release other useful materials, so don't miss them!
