What we anticipated last week about what Apple could have presented at the event on April 20 turned out to be correct: yesterday evening, in fact, several products that we expected were made official. Let's see together how many and which ones.
iMac
The new iMacs, the first product presented at the Apple event on April 20, will be renewed inside and out: with one shell available in different colors only 11.5mm thick and a 24-inch screen with 4,5K resolution, these are the thinnest iMacs ever made. The real novelty, however, is the M1 chip Apple's proprietary capable of handling processor, memory and graphics. The configuration is completed by a system with 6 integrated speakers and a front camera with 1080p resolution and artificial intelligence to keep the subject always in focus and in the center of the frame during video calls.
Thanks to the M1 chip, also the integration with iPhone is interesting: on iMac it is now possible to run most of your favorite iPhone apps, as well as mirror the phone screen, to answer calls and messages while you work without even having to pick up your smartphone.
iPad Pro
Even the iPad, in its Pro version, is equipped internally with the M1 chip, taking the performance of Apple's flagship tablet to a really interesting level for those who use this type of device for work and productivity. The declared graphics power is 40% higher than the previous iPad Pro model, while the computational power of the processor is even 50% faster. The display is a Liquid Retina XDR mini-LEDs that guarantees a higher brightness than in the past, and is available in two sizes: 11 and 12,9 inches.
To complete the technical equipment there are compatibility with Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard, Wide and Ultra Wide cameras, storage up to 2Tb, 5G connectivity and compatibility with the Wi-Fi 6 standard. The front camera is also equipped with Center Stage technology: thanks to the M1 processor, the tablet automatically adjusts zoom and framing to keep subjects in the center of the scene during video calls.
AirTag
Long awaited and finally officially unveiled at the Apple event on April 20, it is "simply" about accessories that interface with the Dov'è app and that, once hooked to the car keys, wallet or any object of our interest, will allow us to track them using our Apple devices. iPhone 11 and later support precision search, which in the vicinity of the searched AirTag is able to indicate the direction and meters that separate us from the object we are looking for. The AirTags also have a small speaker and obviously integrate deeply into the Apple ecosystem: once set up, for example, you can ask Siri "Find my keys" to ensure that the corresponding AirTag starts ringing, helping us in the search. .
Apple TV 4K
With 4K HDR resolution, the Apple A12 Bionic chip and a new remote control integrated with Siri, the new Apple TV is exactly as we expected. Interesting is the possibility of calibrating the colors of the content you are watching simply by framing the TV screen with your iPhone, which obviously adds to the integration of Apple TV into the Apple ecosystem, with the ability to answer Facetime calls or control compatible HomeKit devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network
iPhone 12 in purple
Not a real novelty of the Apple event on April 20, but still noteworthy, the new color for iPhone 12, now also available in purple. However, it is an interesting alternative for those who have not yet purchased the new top of the range.
These are the news of the first Apple event of 2021. We now await the WWDC, in which we will find out more about the new operating systems dedicated to iPad, iPhone, iMac and Apple Watch, so as to better understand how the new devices and their technical characteristics will integrate. with the features provided by the next OS.
