According to some rumors about the Final Fantasy series it seems that soon there should be news on a new chapter: considering that 4 years have passed since the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and that of Final Fantasy XV, the news on a new chapter should not be long in coming. Such rumors are mostly fueled by some insiders.
On Resetera, a certain Navtra reported information regarding Final Fantasy XVI claiming that the title is close to reveal, sooner than we all might expect. According to what Navtra reveals, it appears that the sixteenth chapter was to be shown at the PlayStation 5 reveal event on June. Square Enix then preferred Project Athia. Furthermore it seems that Final Fantasy XVI will be destined to be, in some way, a PlayStation 5 exclusive. There are no clear and definitive details yet but it seems that the possibility is more possible is a temporal exclusive, as was Final Fantasy VII Remake. Obviously all this must be taken with a grain of salt as none of this information comes from official channels and could turn out to be untrue details although they are not such unlikely eventualities. Sony is expected to reveal new information on PlayStation 5 in the coming days so it is possible that we will soon know more about Final Fantasy XVI as well.
