There are two canonical endings in YIIK: A Postmodern RPG, Ackk Studios' 2019 indie. Three, if we count a post from the developers claiming there was another one (it turned out to be an urban legend).
This guide is dedicated to the alternate ending of YIIK: A Postmodern RPG, which is easy to miss as it all takes place in the last few days before New Year's Eve. The secret ending requires a specific interaction with a well-hidden character and not going to the city center with Alex's friends - with this last action we proceed with the first ending.
To make a brief summary of the last part of the story, the protagonist Alex and the other boys have a month (December) to train and prevent a meteor colliding on Earth and destroying reality. A lost cause for many: the reality we play is just one of many, and many have already been destroyed by the alternative Alexes.
Reality has already begun to deform. What if there was another way out for the carrot-peel protagonist? The second ending of the game is suggested to us by reading a post on ONISM on December 30th. In the post, Alex is told to "leave plastic behind," a reference to The Essentia 2000.
For convenience we have divided the various steps into 21 points. Here's what you need to do to unlock YIIK's secret ending: A Postmodern RPG.
- Leaving the house and heading behind the tree with the swing: there is the stylized figure of Sammy, which actually unlocks access to the other ending;
- go back into the house and go out through the kitchen door (the one with the clock);
- drive to KNN by car (on the far right of the map, under the university);
- enter the KNN headquarters;
- talk to the ground floor secretary (PT);
- go to the first floor (P1) and use the cat to unlock the door;
- go up to the second floor (P2) and talk to the journalist boss. He will order you to make him a coffee with the machine on the floor;
- the boss takes his "weak" coffee, with two parts of milk and a lump of sugar. For milk, talk to the lady from P1. For sugar, talk to the PT secretary and trace back to P2. A door will be opened where it will be possible to find the cup near the well and the sugar (the sack);
- prepare coffee and take it to the boss;
- the boss will now ask to copy a file to a disk (Red Disk). The disk is located outside the KNN headquarters, behind the NPC and the four cars. Once obtained, go back to P2 and interact with any computer. You need a password;
- the password can be found in the bulletin board on the left wall;
interact with two computers: one to upload the file to the disk, the other to download the file to the computer;
talk to the journalist boss once again. He will ask to buy a gift for his son, the most expensive in the shop opposite; - exit KNN, go left and talk to Joy Toy shop manager to buy a toy for $ 1.000;
- return to KNN P2 and deliver the toy to the boss journalist;
- now head to P1 to speak to Mr. Jacobs, another reporter. This will give you an item (Pink Slip) and fire the journalist boss;
- give the boss journalist the good news;
- now you have to go through the door with the camera. Go to the KNN PT and deliver the Pink Slip item to the secretary. Go behind the desk and click on the PC to deactivate the electronic eye of the camera;
- go up to the fourth floor P4 and take the door on the right in the other doors there is some cut content;
- go through the central window;
- answer the phone;
- go back to the previous corridor and answer the phone again;
- accept the ending (you can not go back).
The elevator opens… we leave you the surprise of seeing how it ends.
