The debut of Hitman 3, of which you can obviously find a review and video review on our pages, proves to be a winner on consoles also from the point of view of technical data. The Digital Foundry team performed as usual a detailed technical analysis of the console version of the game, and the results are impressive practically across the board. Xbox Series X actually seems to have a small advantage over all others.
According to the report, the game runs at native 4K at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X. The frame rate is also maintained on PS5, but the resolution suffers a small dip with the game running at 1800p. On Xbox Series S, unsurprisingly, the resolution is even lower (1080p) even though the frame rate is mostly stable at 60 FPS.
Digital Foundry specifies that on Xbox consoles the frame rate is mostly constant at 60 FPS, with slight fluctuations in the 50-60 FPS range in some particular areas (e.g. the Mendoza gaming scenario).
Hitman 3: technical data on old-gen consoles
On Xbox One X, the game reaches a resolution of 1440p, while the frame rate is limited to 30 FPS on all previous generation machines. All except PS4 Pro, which has a 1080p / 60 FPS mode, called the "frame interpolated" option.
Hitman 3 has been available on PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia since yesterday and on Nintendo Switch as a cloud-only version.
