The development studio based in the city of Dundee Junkfish, BAFTA nominated, announced that his asymmetrical survival horror Monster 2 will enter Steam Early Access on January 28 2021.
A multiplayer follow-up to the original title, Monstrum 2 can boast new monsters, puzzles and procedurally generated environments. You will be able to play up to four prisoners who will have to try to escape from Sparrow Lock, a marine research center, hunted by one of the terrible monsters born from the experiments.
As prisoners we will have to explore Sparrow Lock to clear the path of obstacles, unlock new areas and find useful objects that can help us escape from the monster. We will have to stay hidden and out of his sight. If caught, an intense hunting sequence will start, and we will have to escape the predator by running at breakneck speed in the hope of surviving.
Thanks to a mix of first-person stealth gameplay with a particular focus on puzzles and elements of survival horror, players will have to try to devise an effective strategy to escape together, rather than face the monster head on. With scalable difficulty based on the number of players engaged, procedurally generated environment layouts, traps, rooms to explore and puzzles to solve, no match will be the same as before.
Monster 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Pending the launch it can be tried in open beta over the weekend of 23 and 24 January.
