To act as a basis for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, a survival horror video game and the second of a series of eight chapters, will be a strong narrative component, to be enjoyed both alone and in the company of friends. What led to the birth of a cinematic atmosphere was, in particular, the contribution provided by motion capture, which the team behind the game wanted to explain in its latest Dev Diary.
Within the video, the group described how these movement recording techniques proved to be perfect for bringing about an even more realistic and authentic horror experience, but also full of challenges to face.
However effective, in fact, motion capture still has its foundations in the acting skills of the actors: the latter cannot count on the support provided by props and complex sets, and are therefore forced to use all their imagination to give life to authentic and believable characters on screen!
Il Dev Diary recently published describes this process in detail, also through interviews and statements by the actors in charge of interpreting the protagonists of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope.
The title will give players the opportunity to follow the macabre adventures of high school professor John and his students Taylor, Andrew, Daniel and Angela. The latter, lost in the fictional village of Little Hope known for a story of witch hunts that took place in 1682, will find themselves involved in a risky journey into the past, in an attempt to reconstruct the history of the city and understand the origins of the evil that grips.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will bring the horror and extremely realistic atmospheres signed by the team of Supermassive Games both PC than on console Sony PlayStation 4 e Microsoft Xbox One, from 30 October of this year.
