Deep Silver and 5 Lives Studios have announced that they are working to further improve the Windbound gaming experience with a collection of free content updates that will be released in three patches between Q4 2020 and Q1 2021. The updates will include new mechanics. gameplay, customizations and modes, and will be delivered free to all players through patches.
La Witch Skin includes three extra items for Kara, each of which contains new abilities; with the witch's hat the potions last longer; with the witch suit you regenerate nearby after death; with the witch's staff you have an indestructible weapon that fires small magic balls with each hit in the melee, damaging the closest target.
The first of the new modes for Windbound is the Photo Mode, which allows the player to pause the game, adjust the camera and take a photo. Players can also change Kara's pose and expression, time of day, and add filters.

- A variety of filters, from black and white, to CRT, to pastel
There is also the Eternal Voyage mode which offers players an infinite game mode, which adds tracking to the map screen and saves the profile to indicate how many stages the player has managed to survive. The game doesn't end with Chapter 5, the stages will progressively (but not infinitely) get bigger, more varied and more dangerous.
The update in Q4 2020 will include additional skins for Kara, free navigation mode, and an improved Nautilus tower experience, introducing a number of new towers for players to explore, to complete new challenges and progress.
