Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have announced that the upcoming Star Trek Online update is titled House Divided will be available from today 8 September on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This update introduces the 20th season of fan-favorite Star Trek Online that has been exploring and expanding the iconic Star Trek universe for 10 years. House Divided gives all returning players the opportunity to experience a war story centered around Klingon alongside Martok by Deep Space Nine.
The following are the functions of the update:
- Visual Klingon Update: House Divided will introduce a visually enhanced Klingon tutorial, along with new footage, voice acting (featuring Robert O'Reilly, JG Hertzler and Rehka Sharma) and more. Additionally, characters like J'Mpok, Adet'pa (Rehka Sharma), Kagran, and Worf feature entirely new designs, as well as several classic Klingon ships, and there are new hair and face options for male Klingon captains. This is just the beginning of the Year of the Klingons, and the classic updates will continue as we go along.
- The return of Martok: the House Divided story will see the captains team up with the iconic Klingon general Martok.
- Modernized ships: spaceships D7, Negv'har, Vor'cha and B'rel will all receive visual upgrades to keep them in line with current ships.
- Event: The update includes a month-long House Divided event that players can participate in. They will be able to get the Red Angel suit / armor and a new 5-person space TFO. There will also be the new Angel's Wake Lockbox, which contains the Ba'ul ship seen in the Star Trek: Discovery episode “Roar of Thunder,” and the Ba'ul Obelisk from Discovery season two.
After accidentally sending herself and the players through time with stolen Federation technology, J'Ula, sister of T'Kuvma (Discovery), finds herself at war when the modern Klingon Empire did the unthinkable and allied with the Federation. J'Ula and his lieutenant Aakar (Gowron's grandfather) have taken on the task of bringing their real Klingon brothers to arms. It is up to the player to quell this rebellion alongside Martok (Deep Space Nine) and keep the newly reached peace with the Federation.
This new epic war story introduces two new playable episodes in Star Trek Online that all Star Trek fans are sure to enjoy.
