ARCTIC has announced the discontinued production of the Freezer 7 Pro. A completely new heatsink is coming, namely the Freezer 7 X. After 10 years, the company concluded that it was time to say goodbye to the Freezer 7 Pro and upgrade the CPU cooler for 2020.
Compared to its predecessor, the Freezer 7 X sports a redesigned heatsink and heat pipe layout. According to Arctic, those changes - along with a new one 92mm fan optimized for static pressure - would significantly improve cooling performance compared to the Freezer 7 Pro. The new heatsink is priced lower due to the increased efficiency in production processes over the past decade.
The 92mm fan included in the cooler of the CPU uses a fluid dynamic bearing and its speed varies between 300 rpm e 2000 rpm (PWM control), with a maximum noise level of 0,3 Sone (22,5 ~ 24,5 dBA). The fan is attached to a black stand that covers the top of the heat sink.
The base plate is supplied with the thermal compound Arctic Cooling MX-2 pre-applied and connects to the heat sink through 2 direct contact, 6mm heat pipes. of section each.
l heat sink fit 74,3 × 110,5 × 132,5mm (LxWxH) and weighs 425 g. It is made up of 44 aluminum fins, each with a thickness of 0,4 mm.
As for the supported sockets, Freezer 7 X can be used on FM1 / 2 (+), AM3 (+) and AM4 di AMD. On Intel platforms, the cooler can be used on LGA 775, LGA 115x and even with future sockets LGA 1200.
THEArctic Freezer 7 X is now available, with a retail price of € 16,99 / $ 19,99.
