Best Friend Forever is a dating simulator developed by Alliance for Nintendo Switch, PC and Classic Mac OS. It will allow us to create a character and immerse ourselves in a story with dialogue choices where we will take care of a little dog in all its aspects, adorning everything with interesting romantic dynamics and moments of judgment.
As anticipated, one of the main points of Best Friend Forever are the s that can be established with the other characters within the game. These are all of a romantic nature, and are initially divided into small meetings within the map to establish an initial , and then evolve into real appointments. Here we point out the first element that makes the experience a bit limited: it would certainly have been more interesting if, in addition to the romantic part, the possibility of making friends with the various characters had been included to make the action more varied.
Within the game scenario you can communicate with the other characters through messages, to be sent via the phone with which it will also be possible to talk to them. An interesting method, too bad that often the conversations are already preset and it is not possible to select the answers of the dialogues to change the outcome.
The other important part of the game is the interaction with the dog that we will have chosen to look after: we will have to take care of it according to all points of view, selecting the activities to do for each week. These activities will increase the characteristics of our dog such as intelligence, good manners, physical stamina, etc ... After selecting all the activities of the week, time will pass quickly and this is a great element to speed up activities without focusing on other things (especially for those who prefer the romance element). Following the weekly scrolling, it will be possible to return to interact with our pet taking care of it in detail, from cleaning the teeth to washing the hair. Interesting addition, although we find that some commands are a bit too cumbersome in terms of execution.
We didn't find the plot particularly interesting, but the characters are well constructed and all different from each other. In general, the game is varied when it comes to personalities, but not how s develop.
The gameplay of Best Friend Forever is mainly composed of the interaction between the characters and the communication choices, but having only - in most cases - two options, the appearance is very limited. Interesting everything about the appointments between characters, which gradually increase in importance as the interaction with them increases. In this exponential growth of s the game is very realistic, making the experience closer and more engaging for us players. The interaction with the dog is instead simple but cured in its simplicity, leading us to create a beautiful with our little animal even within the scenes with the characters, where every so often the puppy will react to events and it will be up to us to do the thing. right at the right time to take advantage of his presence.
Best Friend Forever's graphics are very plastic and static but still pleasing to the eye. However, we found the static nature of the figures very penalizing: a little more movement would have benefited the involvement and the story itself. The designs are very beautiful, but in some cases we found the dog figures not quite true to what a dog should be in reality.
Best Friends Forever has a high replayability given the wide range of characters with which to establish a , but you have to see how interesting their storylines are: those we have tried in our runs so far, in fact, were not very much. The gameplay is simple and intuitive, suitable for everyone. In general, we can say that it is a basic title for an audience of casual gamers without too many pretensions.
