Bloomber published an article in which there is one very important statement from the CEO of ZeniMax, Robert A. Altman, who was considering selling his company, and hence Bethesda, to Electronic Arts before divesting it to Microsoft.
As for, however, Phil Spencer (head of Xbox) explained that the titles of Bethesda could also arrive on other platforms and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, even if he wanted to emphasize that, of course, the best way to play them will be within the Microsoft ecosystem, be it Xbox or PC. These were Spencer's words:
This has been a huge investment in the experience they will have within the Xbox ecosystem. And we want this to be the best way to play, and we think we can achieve this
Returning to Electronic Arts, when Bloomber readers read about a possible acquisition by the American company, everyone commented negatively and rejoiced that in the end Microsoft got it right.
Although, thinking about it, the acquisition by Microsoft it means that Sony has (hypothetically) lost a number of thick titles, such as the much rumored Starfield.
