The game was shown at the close of Nintendo Direct.
At the end of Nintendo Direct at E3 2021, one of the most anticipated titles by the public was shown: it is the sequel to Breath of the Wild, which will be released during the 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
The game was first announced at E3 2019, with a short teaser announcing its development. Since then, except for a brief mention during the last Direct pre-E3, no news has arrived, except for some rumors that also saw the development of the sequel to Breath of the Wild hampered by the problems arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
As announced by Aonuma and as it was possible to notice from the gameplay phases, there are several innovations that will enrich the game, among which new skills for Link, new moves and new types of enemies. Above all, however, the novelty of Breath of the Wild 2 will be constituted by the possibility to visit the sky too, with never-before-seen locations to be discovered in a vast kingdom above old Hyrule.
