There is no peace for CD Projekt Red: after the tribulations that characterized the release of Cyberpunk 2077, with related legal consequences, now the Polish company is facing a unprecedented hacker attack. Those responsible for the attack claim to have stolen the source codes of Cyberpunk 2077, as well as The Witcher 3 and even the next release of the saga.

The developer admitted the incident via Twitter, saying that "some of its internal systems have been compromised". At the same time, CDPR also publicly shared the ransom note hackers, who claim to have stolen the source codes of Cyberpunk 2077, Gwent, The Witcher 3, and the unreleased version of the sequel.
The hackers, in the message sent to the company, after having claimed their action of damaging the servers, also proceed with arrogance passing to the threats:
We have downloaded all the documents related to accounting, administration, legal, human resources, investor relations and more. If we do not come to an agreement, your source codes will be sold or leaked online, and the documents sent to our contacts in the world of journalism.
Following the hackers' ransomware attack, CD Projekt Red for its part confirmed that its backups remained intact and that "it has already taken steps to protect its IT infrastructure and restore data". The study therefore confirmed that "it does not intend to give in to requests or even less to negotiate with blackmailers".
At the moment i personal data of CDPR users are not compromised, but the development studio is still investigating the attack and has obviously already contacted the competent authorities, with whom it will collaborate at 360 °.
Of course, no one would have ever imagined that after the release of a title like Cyberpunk 2077, the Polish company would suffer from a series of thriller-horror misfortunes (some of which are well deserved - ed). Who knows if one day it will be talked about as a cursed title, which instead of launching the parent company into Olympus, ended up ruining it (after all, the gaming industry also needs legends). What do you think?
