As just announced yesterday, Control: Ultimate Edition has been added to the February PS + roster of games, and lucky PS5 owners will enjoy it all new hardware features. 505 Games has in fact specified that on the latest Sony console the title will include the support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of DualSense. Additionally, OS-level features such as Activities e Game guide (which allows players to access hints and detailed clips during a match).
PS5 and Xbox Series X are largely similar in terms of hardware capabilities, and therefore the technical difference in terms of game rendering is minimal. However the Dualsense controller can make the gaming experience noticeably different, as long as the title fully supports it (which is not always obvious on multi-platform titles).
As for the Ultimate Edition of Control, the frame rate and resolution objectives have also recently been confirmed, both on PS5 and on Xbox Series X. The game therefore aims at 60 FPS with 1440p rendering resolution and 4K output in Performance mode, as well as 30 FPS with 1440p resolution and 4K output with ray-tracing in Graphics Mode. On the Xbox Series S, the game will only have a Performance mode, aimed at 60 FPS performance with 900p rendering resolution and 1080p output.
Control: Ultimate Edition will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S on 2 February. The game, as mentioned, will also be available free to all PlayStation Plus subscribers in February, while it already is on PC / Xbox Game Pass.
