Not many people usually notice it, yet once you notice it, it's hard to ignore it: lip-sync in video games is very often different from what characters say.. This is because they are animated according to the reference language of the studio, and then be dubbed without too many worries in any other language. CDprojekt Red, which recently made headlines for the crunch it puts on its employees, is trying to get around this with its own face animation system which would allow lip-sync for every language present in Cyberpunk 2077.

In this tweet it is shown what the result will look like. Undoubtedly impressive, especially for a studio that has already surprised in the past for the avant-garde in the field of procedural animations with The Witcher 3. With this technology they also expand the thing to lip-sync, thus allowing Cyberpunk 2077 to have a very perfectionist feature (even at the cost of having exploited their employees).
