In order to continue your adventure in the fantastic and dangerous world of Dark Souls, it will be necessary to obtain the Sewer key, object guarded by a fearsome adversary: the Goat Demon. At first glance, he seems to be a tough boss, given his strong movements and attacks speed, the huge damage he can cause and the presence of some annoying dogs inside the arena.
The battle takes place in a very small space and being able to bring home the skin with these premises seems to be really complicated, but do not be afraid: there is a simple trick that you can use to get the better in a relatively simple way, and here you are let's explain what it is.
Strategy and useful advice
Did you notice that ladder on the left side of the arena? Well, go up the steps, until the last one and try to turn left: you will find that the character is walking on a ledge. The boss will follow you, and so will the dogs: kill the dogs, which will come one at a time, almost in single file, and make the boss fall by giving him a few hits (if he doesn't fall alone while trying to attack you), then, with an attack from above, hit him. If he is particularly reluctant to fall, jump down and he will follow you, remaining stunned for a few moments, which will allow you to damage him with an attack (be careful not to attack him more than once, because he will make you pay dearly!).
Doing so a couple of times will eliminate his annoying "henchmen" and cause the boss massive damage. Our advice is obviously to use this strategy, equipping yourself with a shield with good physical damage reduction and good stability, in order to effectively resist its attacks. If you are a ranged attacking character (caster or archer), use the same strategy and attack him from above the ledge. Repeat it all, being careful to effectively dodge his machete blows, until the Demon Goat decides to breathe his last breath.
Attacks
- Machete Combo: hit series parable with a decent shield, but be careful: if he hits you with the whole combo it will break your guard, most likely if you have the shield, while if you don't have it you will probably be dead
- Jump Attack: Very fast and long-range attack, capable of causing massive damage, but easily dodged by rolling to the side, which will make it vulnerable for a few moments (always attack it once)
- 180 ° attack: shot easy to identify and therefore to avoid: as soon as the demon raises his weapons on the head, run backwards, away from his range (the attack, in fact, is not parable, has a range of 180 ° and causes very large damage)

(drop that will also be obtainable from the other Goat Demons you meet just before Lost Izalith, so don't worry if you don't get it immediately, Ed.)
The Demon Goat is a hellish creature, and to underline it is his very appearance, which refers to the conception of the devil, of the Devil himself. And, albeit with the necessary differences, this is partly the case here too.
The creature, in fact, comes from Cradle of Chaos, a place comparable to a real hell of flames and torment, from which he mysteriously “escaped” to protect the doors of the “Depths”, a sort of purgatory, if we want to continue with religious allegories. Leaving aside the playful question of the strength of the boss, one of the most difficult at the beginning of the game, the Goat Demon is certainly one of the most disturbing to see. The goat head, equipped with several eyes, penetrates inside you, letting all the horror and fear that the game world can convey through you. Once in Lost Izalith, then, we will not find a single creature like this, but there will be several, a real army of goat demons that will hunt us down, ready to wipe us out.
It is, probably, a guardian of the forces that populate the fiery land, an evil entity with the sole purpose of killing.
