Introduced with the latest free update of Monster Hunter: World Iceborne, Fatalis is one of the most feared Elder Dragons. Fatalis is capable of dealing a lot of damage. The fight against this dragon is divided into several phases which are not too difficult to face, if well prepared. First make sure you are at Master Rank 24 and have completed the investigation for Alatreon.
During this mission in Monster Hunter: World Iceborne we will not be alone but other hunters will give us support. After a first skirmish with the Fatalis you will escape from the Schrade Castle and you can request the SOS or return to the Hub and look for other friends. During the first stage, Fatalis will use fire attacks, from fiery breath to real flaming spheres. A good strategy is to equip the camouflage cloak and load the guns before the fight and then shoot them at him and start the fight. After setting fire to 5 shots, the Fatalis should land. Fight it as normal, dodging the flames and use dragon berries when needed. Once the phase is over, the Fatalis will take flight and breathe fire. Take cover behind the metal door.
In the second stage we will have a ballista available to bring the Fatalis back to earth. This will use the flames again, standing up on its hind legs. Be careful because the area that will be hit will explode in succession. After the second phase, the monster will fly again unleashing yet another fire attack that you can dodge by looking for cover in the castle: run to the portal, pull the lever and exit after the portal is destroyed.
La third stage it will be the hardest because the Fatalis will use a new fire attack, turning on itself, dealing a lot of damage. Fortunately, the Dragonator will intervene to help us. Act as a decoy and lure the Fatalis close to it and then pull the lever and cause great damage. At the end of the phase the Fatalis will behave as at the end of the second. This time run over to him and hide underneath to avoid getting hit. The fight will then always continue with the same pattern but the Fatalis will become more aggressive. We are still talking about one of the toughest monsters in Monster Hunter: World Iceborne so it is always good to behave wisely. However, we advise you to face it in a group, so as not to lengthen the time of the fight too much.
