Following its announcement in 2018, Diablo Immortal has resurfaced with some new details. A technical Alpha version will be distributed in Australia. In this version there will be access to four classes (Monk, Demon Hunter, Wizard and Barbarian) and a reduced level cap.
In a new update given by Blizzard Entertainment, lead designer Wyatt Cheng shared some details of some changes made since Diablo III. In this game the Paragon system returns, but with different trees for different abilities. The Greater Rifts are now Elder Rifts and require keys. Legendary Items cannot be traded and are "self-founded". Players will also be able to use handcrafted material to upgrade Legendary Items and gain bonuses as you level up.
Regarding the monetization of Diablo Immortal Wyatt Cheng pointed out that all updates will be free. Everyone will have access to the classes and there will be no energy limit. The title will be free-to-play with optional in-app purchases. It will also be possible to purchase a battle pass or upgrades for the Elder Rifts in order to obtain bonuses or malus. These crests can also be earned in-game, although it is not clear how.
