Dragon Quest XI is a title full of surprises: from the extremely classic and "banal" premise to a series of events that displace the player, giving the opportunity to obtain two very distinct endings. One of these will be accessible at any time after the events of the Tower of Time, but the last obstacle between the protagonists and the happy ending is insurmountable without the proper preparation. This guide will serve to give indications on what to do to better prepare for the final boss of Dragon Quest XI. We warn you: if we have remained vague up to here, after this point we will go full spoiler”For anyone who has not yet finished the events of the“ Tower of Time ”and subsequent events up to the point where the game will open access to the final boss.
Arriving at the revelation of the star of Darios, Dragon Quest XI changes shape, passing from the classic story-driven JRPG to a game that gives the player total freedom on what to face and where to do it. The only mandatory thing is to awaken the armor of Ketaceas to break the barrier that surrounds the star, but after this the player is left totally free to decide what to do, explore the world or go and defeat the final threat. In this moment of total freedom it is normal to feel a bit lost, with no real points of reference other than a final boss too powerful to face. The world offers so much more than it seems to prepare for the finale, but there are some simply essential steps that we will walk you through shortly.
The most important post-game activity is probably the Trystan maze, a series of dungeons already addressed in the second part of the title reinterpreted with stronger enemies and richer rewards. To access these challenges you will need to go to the inn "The Warrior's Rest" and go to the poisonous ruins nearby. An inaccessible door before post-game is finally unlocked and leads to the first teleportation of the Labyrinth. This content is strongly recommended for various reasons: the enemies are ideal for leveling up to level 70 or up to a level that allows you to follow our level-up guide, the materials and treasures contained in such maps are exceptionally useful and finish each of the challenges that will be proposed will allow us to obtain "wishes". These wishes unlock access to the best sword of the title, an extra horse race, a special ring to change Serena's haircut, a hot magazine for Rab, the chance to marry Gemma, and a manual capable of craft a variety of exceptional weapons. We warn you: although the first three challenges are up to anyone who manages to get to the final boss, the last two bosses are really difficult to take down, so we recommend that you suspend the Trystan Maze after the first challenges, so as to take advantage of the many others Dragon Quest XI content to upgrade and face the latest later.
Another very profitable business resides in Roccapietra, the birthplace of our Lucente. Following the events at the beginning of the adventure, the town will be destroyed and Gemma will ask us to rebuild it by finding people who can help Roccapietra's rebirth. This will open a series of subquests around the world of varying difficulty but never inaccessible. To complete the town's rebirth you will need to:
- helping Declan, Erik's shopkeeper friend in Hellador, who subquest starts talking to his wife in his shop and represents the best starting point for the reconstruction of Roccapietra.
- Save Gondolia from the demons that have invaded it and talk to the frightened man at the entrance to the city.
- Carry out the subquest concerning the Octagonia fighters, which starts automatically once you reach the arena in which the arachnid demon was fought during the story. In this quest there will be two boss fights that can cause problems, but with a good damage dealer it all works out, so use Veronica in the first battle and you won't have any problems.
- Fight the demon imprisoning the queen of Gelheim using the "Lightning" skill. The demon is located north of Gelheim, in the same arena in which it is defeated the first time, defeating it using lightning will make it friendly and it will reach Roccapietra to protect it.
Without these activities Roccapietra will return to its former glory, with a small novelty, a new shop that sells exceptional weapons, among the best that can be found on Dragon Quest XI.
Remember how, in the second part of the title, it is said that Shangri Qua was supposed to be a temple dedicated to training the Bright in his battle against the Dark One? Well, now that Mordegon is dead before taking over the world, the temple will be more than happy to fulfill its duty. Go to the innermost area of the town and you will find particular challenges, in which you will have to choose a certain number of characters and kill waves of enemies in as few turns as possible. The rewards are exceptional, they include many manuals for crafting very effective sets and above all the best sword of Dragon Quest XI. Getting all this will not be easy however, on the contrary, get ready to sweat to finish the final test in less than 20 Rounds!
These are the most profitable quests featured in Dragon Quest XI in its post-game; obviously not all the game has to offer, not even remotely, but they are the best with which to prepare to face what the star of Darios contains and finally save the world!
