505 Games has partnered with Rabbit & Bear Studios to publish Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Thanks to its unique setting, a detailed storyline and a varied cast of characters, the game aims to be a milestone in the JRPG genre. This is also thanks to his association with Studio Lead Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I & II) and Game Director Osamu Komuta.
In July 2020 Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was originally announced as a campaign on Kickstarter and only on day one did it exceed its funding target. As a result, it has become the most successful campaign in a video game in 2020. It will primarily feature a traditional six-character battle system using highly curated 2D sprites. There are also 3D wallpapers with a deep story written by the narrator Murayama.
Rabbit & Bear Studios is a group of very talented creators and designers who have already worked in other Japanese productions. Yoshitaka Murayama, Osamu Komuta, Junko Kawano, Junichi Murakami, together with Michiko Naruke and Motoi Sakuraba have different experiences on titles such as Suikoden, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Wild Arms, and the “Tales of“ series. Thanks to this experience they are considered real pioneers in the field of JRPG.
