The development studio Fall Guys Devs of Mediatonic announced this week that they have found a place for a new studio a Leamington Spa (Warwickshire, England). What is Mediatonic working on? While they say they have some projects underway, they only name one: Fall Guys, of course.
the company said in a press release that “With a long-term commitment to creating compelling seasonal content for the Fall Guys player base and with many other exciting projects in the pipeline, there should be great opportunities for people who want to take their next step with Mediatonic into the world of video games ”.
Simply put, they are hiring new figures to be integrated into the Fall Guys Devs staff.
For the uninitiated, Fall Guys isn't their only game. They did the Hatoful Boyfriend remake, they developed Murder By Numbers, collaborated in the creation of Fable Fortune and have behind them a decade of browser games.
If you don't know anything about Leamington Spa, an English town, here are some particular details:
- Like Bath, Tunbridge Wells, Epsom and other cities with 'wet' sounding names, Leamington Spa was famous for the alleged medicinal benefits of its thermal waters.
- Like Tunbridge Wells and Epsom, Leamington Spa is one of those spa towns where, if you're forced to point this out on a map, you'd probably point to the southern half of England widely. It seems so, doesn't it? Yet it's further north than you might think - close to Birmingham.
- Leamington Spa is actually Royal Leamington Spa, because Queen Victoria visited it once and said it was beautiful.
- Leamington Spa isn't the birthplace of that pretty coconut sponge cake. If you are thinking of lamington, know that it is Australian.
- The famous Royal Pump Room And Baths spa was closed years ago.
Mediatonic this week announced the theme of the game show It's A Knockout-y next season. It is a season appropriate ice-o-rama called Winter Knockout.
