This is a story about a journey, an adventurous journey with a baggage full of friendship, struggles, smiles and personal growth; a journey that was in itself a great start (given the return of the franchise on Nintendo) already several years ago, we are talking about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition.
Perhaps not everyone has got to travel the world invaded by the toxic cloud in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the legendary Nintendo GameCube, this could undoubtedly be a good reason to embark on this beautiful journey that recalls the classic atmospheres of the first chapters of the Final Fantasy series that seem long gone, with a wink to Final Fantasy IX.
You can choose between 4 different tribes to customize our avatar:
- Clavats: Peaceful tribe and in harmony with nature. Friends of all the inhabitants of the planet, they usually use Sword and Shield during the journey.
- Lilties: Small but with surprising power. Tribe with a very hot temperament, they are masters in the use of the Spear.
- Yukes: Experts in magic, they do not take kindly to the tribe of the Lities and are also famous for their wisdom. On the journey they will make great use of magic as well as their mighty hammer.
- Selkies: Free-spirited tribe, almost in the wild. Skilled in pickpocketing, they are considered to be very similar to animals. Their weapon is the staff.
We will also be able to choose our staff Job to entrust during the creation of the character; but let's go and discover together the news that await us starting from the release date set for August 27 2020:

1- Online Multi-Player and Cross-Play Functionality: Square Enix wanted to introduce the mode co op to be able to play through different consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and also with iOS and Android systems; when we cast a spell a circle will appear and we should point it at our enemy or where we want to cast the spell, in co-op mode, if we cast the spell in the same spot as our partner, the spell will become more powerful (for example Fira could become Firaga if several people cast the same spell); a bit like in the original version, only we won't be in the same room anymore, one will also be introduced chat to talk to our friends who are playing with us.
2- LITE version: Ryoma Araki (Game Director) explains that a version has been introduced that does not require PlayStation Plus or a Nintendo Switch Online account; however, it is a version with 13 explorable dungeons (in the GameCube version there were a total of 14), obviously without the co-op mode and, moreover, the levels that we will be able to face once the game is finished in the full mode will be absent. Araki He also wishes to point out that if we would like to purchase the full version later, our progress will not be lost and we will not have to start over.
3- Dubbing: For the Remastered version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles it was decided to include the dubbing, inevitable these days and even if Square Enix still does not seem willing to include other languages in their Voiceovers range, a characterization of a "talking" character has a great impact on the final product; imagine a Final Fantasy VII Remake without dubbing…. If we decide to play in Japanese we will have many famous voice actors in the anime field; the other choice is English which has been inserted for obvious differences in pronunciation regarding the use of weapons and spells.
4- Mimic mode: Mimic is a function that allows you to "impersonate" different characters encountered during the adventure, Ryoma Araki is very satisfied with the introduction of this mode:
After certain events, there are characters who will no longer appear for some reasons, we have introduced the Mimic system to be able to use the clothes and the likeness of the characters we have become most fond of during the course of the story.
5- Music: Also for this chapter, although not part of the canonical series, the soundtrack is one of the cornerstones of the franchise; Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition it has also been renewed in the musical part by remastering all the original tracks and adding a brand new version of the themes "Sound of theWind" e "Starry MoonlitNight".
6- At the end of the Adventure: Once the main quest has been completed, the developers invite you to try some new Dungeons inserted specifically for this Remastered; it's about 13 new dungeons of very high difficulty that will challenge even the most powerful equipment!
7- Interesting Additions: And it is precisely the equipment that is a tempting peculiarity for lovers of strategies and looks, in fact, new weapons, armor and containers have been added; then adding the mode "I remember", where we can retrace past events by reading a page of our personal diary.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition seems to be a really promising title, a beautiful return both for those who played the game released almost 20 years ago on GameCube, and for those who want to immerse themselves in this fantastic world where they will find many elements of the first Final Fantasy released on the first generation consoles.
