Chocobos will not be available from the start of the game: only from chapter 3 in fact we will have the possibility to unlock the rental stations. We can get there easily by following the indicator of the mission "Chocobo we arrive!" Which will be available after visiting the Coernix rest station.
To complete the mission, just talk to Wiz, the owner of the Chocobo station. However, we will be able to unlock other very useful items, always linked to the yellow birds, by accepting hunting requests from Wiz himself, especially Duscae's Nightmare.
This hunting mission is dedicated to Occhiofosco, a Behemot that eats Chocobo. The first part of the mission will be dedicated to the buffering of the beast, to find out where its lair is and then get to the heart and beat it up. Darkeye is vulnerable to elemental fire magic, as well as heavy shields and swords. To gain more AP and facilitate the clash, you can also hit the barrels with fire spells and make them explode near Dark Eyes, dealing heavy damage to it. By completing the task Wiz will give us a whistle to recall the Chocobos after renting them, as well as 1500 EXP. In addition, all rental points on the game map will be available.
Chocobo rental works quite simply: by going to the rental points, paying 50 gil we will have the bird available for 1 day, with 100 for two and so on. From time to time, the Chocobo can also pop out during battles and give us support.
Chocobos have various parameters that are: speed, vigor (how long a Chocobo can gallop) and speed. These stats can be improved by leveling up the Chocobo simply by riding it. The longer we stay with them, the easier they will level up.
- LV 1: Speed 27 Km / h, Jump Height 1,65 m, Strength 60.
- LV 2: passing 2 Minutes at the Gallop - Chocofuga is unlocked, through which you can escape from clashes.
- LV 3: passing 6 minutes at a gallop - Force + 10 and Speed at 32 Km / h.
- LV 4: Passing 8 Minutes in Gallop - Chococalcio is unlocked through which the Chocobo can inflict more damage in combat.
- LV 5: passing 12 Minutes at Gallop - Force + 10 and Speed at 45 Km / h.
- LV 6: Passing 16 Minutes at the Gallop - Chocodanza unlocks through which the Chocobo will upgrade the team.
- LV 7: passing 20 Minutes in Gallop - Force + 10 and Jump Height at 2,60 m.
- LV 8: Passing 20 Minutes in a Gallop - Chocoraffica unlocks through which the Chocobo can inflict more damage in combat.
- LV 9: passing 24 Minutes in Gallop - Stamina + 10 and Recovery Stamina x2.
- LV 10: Passing 30 Minutes at Gallop - Chococross is unlocked through which Noctis and the Chocobo can launch a cross attack.
CHOCOSFIDE
The Chocosfide are Chocobo races that can be started by talking to the attendant inside the kiosk, south of the Chocobo station. Here we refer you to our guide to start faster at Chocosfide, in order to make the task easier.
