One of the funniest features of Bayonetta 2 is experimenting with combo combinations between various weapons. However, most of the arsenal must be unlocked: in this guide you will find how to get all the weapons in Bayonetta 2.
In order to get hold of a weapon you will need to find some golden LPs scattered throughout the Story Mode. There are 7 weapons that can be unlocked through these LPs, plus 5 more that can be obtained in other ways.
Let's start with the weapons obtainable through LP
- Rakshasa: to unlock this weapon just play the Chapter 1; in verse 6 a cutscene will start showing the golden LP appearing in front of Bayonetta
- Alruna: The LP that unlocks this weapon will be given to Bayonetta after defeating the boss of the Chapter 11
- Kafka: The LP that unlocks Kafka can be found in the chapter 2, after verse 5, instead of going up the stairs that Loki will materialize, just go to the end of the corridor to see the vinyl
- Undine: The LP that unlocks Undine can be found in the Chapter 4, verse 1 and verse 6 as it will be broken into two parts. The first part will be given to Bayonetta after the battle on the roofs, the second will be among the debris immediately after verse 6
- Chernobog: also in this case the LP will be divided into two parts, both of which can be found during the Chapter 5. At the beginning of the chapter, just enter the water and go to the left to find a chest containing the first piece of the LP. The second LP is in the area after the fight with Pain. Once out of the water go right and you will find a hidden room with the second piece of vinyl
- Takemikazushi: to unlock this weapon it will be necessary to find 3 pieces of LP scattered in 2 different chapters: chapter 8 and chapter 9. The first piece can be found after finishing the verse 5 of chapter 8, will appear in the middle of the arena is impossible to miss. The second piece will be hidden afterwards verse 7. When Loki opens the portal you don't have to enter it but jump to the right to see how, behind the portal there is a secret area where you will see the broken vinyl. The last piece will be found in the chapter 9, on the way to the golem battle you will have to jump to the left to see a hidden passage with the last fragment of the LP
- Salamandra: this LP will also be divided into 3 pieces but they will all be in chapter 10. At the beginning of the chapter you will have to jump and fly to the right to find a secret area, after defeating the two demonic dogs that will spawn the first piece of the LP will appear. The second piece is in the verse 6, there will be a ledge accessible via a jump on the right of the arena from where Bayonetta will face once the battle of the verse is over. At the end of the path that this shelf hides lies the second fragment. The last piece can be found to the right of the Muspelheim portal of Chapter 10, this portal is very evident so no directions will be needed to find it. To make this last part appear, however, it will also be necessary to beat a demonic golem at the end of the path.
Weapons not unlockable via LP instead
- Chain Chomp: This weapon will be unlocked by finishing the game on hard (third apotheosis)
- Guns: This weapon will be unlocked by finishing the game on any difficulty
- Scarabough Fair: weapons accessible by purchasing the Super Mirror which unlocks some weapons and costumes from the first chapter. To unlock the Super Mirror you will need to finish the game on normal difficulty or higher. (Second apotheosis or higher)
- Shuraba: Like the Scarabough Fairs this katana is unlocked via Super Mirror. Equipped with the Hero of Hyrule costume, she becomes a Master Sword
- Rodin: to unlock this weapon you will need to buy the platinum ticket for 9,999,999 rings and then give it to Rodin to be able to face him in bossfight. Beating Rodin's bossfight unlocks this weapon
Bayonetta 2 is available on WiiU and will be released on February 16, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.
