In the title, you will meet the artificial Gladius, Poppi, once you clash with Tora and, after undertaking some main missions to create her, she will come to life and join your party. In this guide, we will explain everything you need to know to make the most of Poppi, including how to play Tiger Tiger, how to quickly earn Aether Crystals and how to upgrade Poppi's components in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Guide to the Cambiapoppi
Once she meets Poppi for the first time, Tora will give her a slightly awkward introduction. After recovering all the components that the nopon needed, the first artificial Gladius can be created, which was built from scratch thanks to the whole nopon family. Tora will also briefly introduce the Poppiswap upgrade system, which you can use to change how Poppi works.
Just above, you can see the Change Poppi update screen, which allows you to use the Aether Crystals and other parts that can be found around, to update Poppi's behavior on the battlefield. Each upgraded part that is added to Poppi, such as its upgrade of its nucleic element, will consume more energy, causing the amount of overall energy consumed to go up. Therefore, the energy converter will need to be upgraded in order to increase its maximum energy output and increase its power.
To acquire the materials, in order to upgrade Poppi's energy converter, there is another way. First you will have to play the Tiger Tiger minigame.
Tiger Tiger Guide
Tiger Tiger is introduced by Tora as a method of acquiring upgrade parts for Poppi, and while this is true, it is quite difficult to get your hands on some powerful upgrade components for the Gladius.
As you can probably guess just by looking at it, Tiger Tiger is a retro-style game, in which you have to guide the character past various traps and enemies, to the treasure at the bottom of the level, then go back and claim the rewards acquired. Enemies can be attacked with a directional A attack, some will be much harder to kill than others.
It is imperative to destroy as many enemies as possible while descending, when you are going up to complete the level, after reaching the chest, you will not be able to use the directional attack, and you will have a very small window to avoid the various dangers. Under the ether, you can see an air meter, if it runs out due to the hit received by the various obstacles, the game will end.
Below, we've listed all the enemies you can face and the various ways they can be defeated:
- Green shark: Can be killed from any angle with one hit.
- Red shark: He can be killed from any angle, but with multiple hits.
- Sea urchin: It cannot be killed, but it will kill you instantly on contact.
- Jellyfish: Can be killed from above with one shot.
- Turtle: He can only be killed from below with one shot.
- Algae: It can't be killed, but it can't harm you.
- Lobster: Can be killed when hit from below.
- Monkfish: She can be killed from both sides with a single hit.
- Giant Pirahna: Usually found near the chest below, it can be killed from above.
- Shrimps: They can be killed on both sides.
While getting the treasure chest at the bottom of the level and successfully returning it to the top will reward you with the parts upgrade for Poppi, you can get lots of Aether Crystals and other rewards by collecting the various smaller chests on the way down. All of this culminates in the reward screen where the acquired components are shown, if created they would have cost a lot of Aether crystals.
How to improve Poppi
But if you want to upgrade Poppi the hard way, by spending Aether Crystals through the Change Poppi upgrade screen, you'll have to play Tiger Tiger a lot, as the minigame is the only way to acquire Aether Crystals, which can then be used to create new Poppi parts in the Cambiapoppi.
In addition to this, it will be necessary to decide what role Poppi should play in your group. Poppi's Role CPU can be modified to change the combat role, which can include a healer, attack or tank role. It will obviously be necessary to choose which role is more suitable, taking into consideration the roles of the other members of the group, but it is highly recommended to keep Poppi in the role of the Tank. CPU Evasion Role Mods can give her a solid defense to both physical and Ether attacks, and if you can buy a good weapon for her from a merchant, she can become the unstoppable force for the team.
